EXPERIENCE

Tutoring high school students in math (Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, SAT prep), study skills, and other subjects. Providing training with computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word).

Working with autistic child as part of a team following the Option Institute's Son-Rise Program. Work involves one-on-one interaction in a non-distracting environment. Method focuses on positive reinforcement of eye contact and language use in a loving, non-judgmental fashion.

Managed new installation of traction elevators. Analyzed building drawings (architectural/structural), designed and laid out applications per company standards and code requirements, ordered mechanical equipment, and resolved any field issues during installation.

• Designed layouts for 16 jobs. 14 of those jobs were ordered following client approval. One job was completed and successfully turned over to the client.
• Participated in rollout of online Ordering Information manual for Traction department. These manuals dictate equipment specifications, limitations and ordering process. Evaluated database design and suggested improvements for more productive use. Updated EMP (Engineering Methods & Procedures) to reflect transition from paper binders to online database and to document partial automation of revision and approval process. Provided initial training and on-going support for engineers in group.

Provided database programming for MetLife's Year 2000 Project Office.

• Designed, implemented and maintained MS Access 7.0 databases for tracking Year 2000 compliance status of mainframe and client/server applications at corporate wide level, for all locations and across all lines of business. As a result of these tracking systems, all applications were identified, reviewed, renovated and certified as Year 2000 compliant prior to 2000.
• Led team in creating timely and accurate reports used to publish compliance status to upper management, and to manage the renovation effort and resource allocation within individual lines of business. Provided additional reports to comply with various state insurance requirements. Transferred data as needed between multiple applications for best representation (MS Access, Lotus Notes, MS Excel, MS Project).
• Supported a Lotus Notes database tracking Year 2000 compliance of MetLife's business partners. Checked data integrity and kept ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) views current for MS Access reporting. Used a template to modify database design. Designed views for analysis of various subsets of data. Modified keyword lists. Updated LotusScript to log data updates on forms.

Developed MS Access run-time applications (RFP's) for Brystol-Myers Squibb's purchasing initiatives.
